About Us
We are a community of boaters located in the Tacoma, Washington area, who enjoy cruising on the Puget Sound from March thru October.
Many of the Viking Yacht Club (VYC) members are very experienced and gladly share their knowledge with those just getting started. Our ages range from babies to 90+ young. VYC dues are lower than many clubs because we have no clubhouse to oversee.
Both power and sail boaters are part of our membership. We look out for each other, help and encourage each other, and share knowledge gained from years of local boating experience. Many of our members are long-time Washington residents with secret knowledge of the area!
- Reciprocity Privileges
- Over 80 Reciprocal Clubs
What We Offer
Inexpensive moorage while you are traveling is one of the many benefits of belonging to a yacht club. VYC has 80+ reciprocal clubs in the region from Olympia to the San Juan islands and Canadian Gulf Islands. Reciprocity privileges enable members to enjoy moorage at a very low cost. In addition, enjoy use of the Tacoma Yacht Club (TYC) club house and participate in the TYC and Lighted Christmas Parade. Similar privileges are enjoyed at the Seattle Yacht Club (SYC). Many of our reciprocal relationships have been enjoyed since 1959.
